How is the Church Financed?

Meeting at
Winslow Public Hall

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, whatever you believe, whatever you've done

You are welcome

At Winslow Christian Fellowship we believe that transparency is important where finances are concerned. The wider church has often come under criticism for being interested only in money. So, how does WCF manage money?

What do we use money for?

Like any organisation Winslow Christian Fellowship has expenses. We need to:
  • hire the hall we meet in on a Sunday
  • stock up on resources
  • pay for insurance
  • pay fees to organisations that support us
  • maintain the church house
  • pay the salary of the Pastor
  • fund the ministries of the church
We also give regularly to Christian work in other countries.

Where do we get money from?

Winslow Christian Fellowship is funded by the generous and sacrificial regular giving of its members.

We don't fund raise, we don't apply for grants, we don't receive money from the government and (as an independent church) we don't receive funding from any denomination or group of churches.

Does Winslow Christian Fellowship own property?

Manse Although WCF doesn't have its own church building, it does have a house that was bought by the members for the Pastor to live in. When the church had no Pastor the house was let out which provided extra income. While a Pastor lives in the house it does not provide any income.

Who decides how money is used?

The leadership of the church are chosen by the members of the church and given the responsibility to make decisions, which naturally includes how finance is used. The leadership are held accountable at members' meetings and particularly at the church AGM where the accounts are presented. As a registered charity these accounts are available to be viewed on the charities commission website.
